Northern Virginia Community College will be hosting its 4th annual Climate Change Symposium on Monday, April 16, from 2pm-4:30pm in the Forum of the Ernst Community Cultural Center on the Annandale campus.
Speakers will include:
Callan Bentley, assistant professor of geology at NOVA
Bill Hooke, senior policy fellow at the American Meteorological Society
Joe Witte, weathercaster for TBD TV and former USGS glaciologist
Juliet Eilperin, environment reporter for the Washington Post
We’ll be discussing the science of climate change, how society perceives risk, the American public’s opinions on climate change, and the reporting of climate change in the media. It’s going to be a great afternoon of stimulating ideas and exciting conversation. Please join us – open to the general public. Coffee and cookies will be provided.
