Stephen J. Godfrey grew up in Quebec.  As a child he turned his bedroom into a personal Natural History Museum. He received his B. Sc. From Bishop’s University  and his Ph.D. from McGill University.  He first worked in Drumheller, Alberta, the “Dinosaur Capital of Canada,” where he specialized in exhibits for museums worldwide.  His work is now on display at the Field Museum; American Museum of Natural History; Noorder Dierenpark, the Netherlands; Universal Studio’s Islands of Adventure;  Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and elsewhere.  He has had many sculpting contracts with the University of Chicago and the National Geographic where he also has appeared in 3 TV specials on African dinosaurs.  In 1998, Dr. Godfrey joined the Calvert Marine Museum with the mandate to collect, preserve, and interpret the fossils of the famous Calvert Cliffs; he specializes in extinct whales and dolphins.
