The University of Maryland’s geology department has seminars on most Fridays at 11 am preceded by coffee and snacks at 10:30 in the lobby of the Geology Building. This semester the seminars start next week, on September 10 (no seminar this Friday!). And they have a different lecture hall for seminar this semester – Microbiology Room 1211. For those of you who have never been in the microbiology building, if you’re walking from the Geology Building it’s up Campus Drive right before the Stamp Student Union, on the right-hand side. It’s building 231 on campus maps.
Please visit the seminar website: http://www.geol.umd.edu/EventsNews/seminar.htm to see the schedule of speakers for the fall semester. Next week’s speaker is Naomi Levin of Johns Hopkins University, who will present a talk entitled, “An isotopic perspective on the environmental context for human evolution in eastern Africa.”
