Spring Meeting and Field Trip – Saturday, May 21, 2011
Coles Hill Uranium Deposit, Pittsylvania Co., Virginia

Join us for our Spring meeting and field trip to the Coles Hill Uranium Deposit. Joe Aylor, PhD, Chief Geologist will give a presentation on the geology of the deposit, discuss potential mining and milling operations and lead a field trip through the area. The Coles Hill deposit is the largest undeveloped uranium deposit in the US. The Commonwealth of Virginia currently has a moratorium on uranium mining that will take legislative action to overturn. The National Academy of Sciences is currently conducting a study on the effects of uranium mining in Virginia and legislative action to overturn the moratorium could follow in 2012.

Schedule:

9:30 – Breakfast and Coffee
10:00 – Business Meeting
12:00 – Lunch – on own at local restaurants
1:00 – 3:00 Presentation and Field Trip lead by Virginia Uranium – carpool from the hotel
