The first University of Maryland geology departmental colloquium of the semester will take place on Friday at 11am in room MCB 1207 (Microbiology building) on the College Park campus. Note the seminar room is different from last spring. The speaker will be Prof. Brent Owens, from the College of William and Mary. He will present “ Unraveling the Origin of a Unique Economic Resource: Petrogenesis of Kyanite Quartzites in the Piedmont Province of Virginia”
The department will provide drinks and refreshments in the foyer of the Geology Building starting at 10:30 am.
